“2020년은 숫자(실적)보다 내러티브(이야기)가 중요한 해였다. 주식 초보라도 각 분야에서 제일 좋다는 회사 주식 사고, 코로나19라는 대형 이슈에 연동된 테마주 사고, 미래 내러티브 좋다는 기업 주식 사면 어렵지 않게 돈을 벌었다. 올해는 숫자가 중요해졌다. 작년에 내러티브로 올라간 많은 주식이 흔들렸다. 여기에 딱히 내러티브가 없는 포스코나 건설주가 갑자기 상승하니 개인으로서는 전혀 대응이 안 되는 것이다. 숫자가 잘 나오는 종목은 개별적으로 오르는데, 초보 투자자는 아무래도 숫자를 챙기는 습관이나 전문성이 없다 보니 버텨주는 종목을 쉽게 놓치는 것이다.”
